How to create a Voice Clone

Voice cloning is one of the most popular features in Podcraftr! To get the best results from your voice clone, we suggest following some of the guidelines below:

When recording your voice:

  • Pace: Speak at the pace you want the AI to mimic, and keep it consistently fast/slow throughout the audio clip. Large variations in your delivery can cause unwanted output from the AI.

  • Tone: Try and speak more expressively and with more energy than you typically would. The AI has a tendency to average out your recording's expressiveness and giving the recording information about your voice's full range of emotions helps offset this.

  • Quality: Try and record in a quiet room with no echo or noise of any kind. Use the best microphone you have to minimize any audio interference. Anything captured in your recording will be imitated by the AI... yep, ANYTHING
    .
  • Length: Try and record for at least 3-4 minutes of audio. Our AI can generate a clone with just 1 minute, however giving it more data tends to yield a better result.

  • Recording Preview: If using our built-in recording feature, make sure to listen back to your recording before submitting it to be cloned. If you've missed the dialog to allow access to your microphone, it may have recorded silence which we create a blank clone.

  • File Type & Size: If uploading a file for us to clone, please use either an MP3, M4A, WAV, or AAC format that's under 10MB in size.

To Create your first Voice Clone, you may:

  1. For a New Podcast Series: Upload or record your file as part of the Podcast Series setup process. Just click "New Podcast Series" inside your My Podcasts tab, fill out the first page of information, and then click to record or upload your file.

  2. For an existing Podcast Series: Click on your podcast and goto "Podcast Settings" and then the "Podcast Voice" tab. Here, you can record or upload a new voice file to use across any of your podcasts.
